  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13-inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the white cake mix, eggs, vegetable oil, and water. Beat on low speed for 30 seconds, then increase the speed to medium and beat for 2 minutes.
  3. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the cake to cool for 10 minutes.
  4. In a small bowl, dissolve the strawberry gelatin in boiling water. Stir in the cold water. Use a fork to poke holes all over the top of the cake. Pour the gelatin mixture over the cake, making sure it fills the holes. Refrigerate for 2 hours.
  5. Spread the whipped topping over the chilled cake. Decorate with fresh strawberries and blueberries to create a patriotic design.
