  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease and flour a cake pan.
  2. In a bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk.
  5. Divide the batter into separate bowls and add food coloring to each bowl to create desired colors.
  6. Pour the colored batters into the prepared cake pan, creating layers.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Remove from the oven and let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. Once cooled, slice the cake horizontally into two layers. Spread whipped cream on one layer and place the other layer on top.
  10. Decorate the top of the cake with fruit slices.
  11. Allow the cake to rest for at least 1 hour before serving.
