  2. In a large bowl, beat the egg whites and cream of tartar until foamy. Gradually add the granulated sugar and vanilla extract, beating until stiff peaks form.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the egg white mixture.
  4. Gently fold in the orange zest and orange juice.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  6. Bake for 45 minutes, or until the cake is golden brown and springs back when lightly touched.
  7. Remove from the oven and let cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then, transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. Once the cake is cooled, dust with powdered sugar before serving.
