  • 1.5 cup Orange slices
  • 2 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 cup Unsalted butter
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 0.5 cup Milk
  • 0.5 cup Powdered sugar
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. Arrange the orange slices in a single layer on the bottom of the pan.
  3. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  4. In a separate large bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients, alternating with the milk.
  6. Pour the batter over the orange slices in the cake pan.
  7. Bake for 40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then invert onto a serving plate.
  9. Let the cake cool completely, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.
