Ingredients
  • 1.5 cup Pie crust
  • 1 teaspoon Orange zest
  • 1 cup Orange juice
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoon Cornstarch
  • 0.25 teaspoon Salt
  • 3 large Eggs
  • 2 tablespoon Unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1 cup Whipped cream
  • optional for garnish Orange slices
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine the orange zest, orange juice, sugar, cornstarch, and salt. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs. Gradually add the hot orange mixture to the eggs, whisking constantly.
  4. Return the mixture to the saucepan and cook over low heat for 2-3 minutes, until thickened.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in the butter and vanilla extract until well combined.
  6. Pour the filling into the pie crust and smooth the top.
  7. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the filling is set.
  8. Remove from the oven and let it cool for 2 hours.
  9. Serve with whipped cream and garnish with orange slices, if desired.
