Ingredients
  • 2 cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 1/4 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 2 tablespoon Baking Powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter (cold)
  • 2 tablespoon Fresh Orange Zest
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Orange Juice
  • 1/2 cup Dried Cranberries
  • 1/2 cup Heavy Cream
  • 1 Egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cut the cold butter into small cubes and add it to the flour mixture. Use your fingertips or a pastry cutter to cut the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in the orange zest and dried cranberries.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the orange juice, heavy cream, egg, and vanilla extract.
  6. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and gently mix until just combined.
  7. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and gently knead it a few times to bring it together.
  8. Pat the dough into a circle about 1 inch (5 cm) thick. Use a sharp knife to cut the circle into 8 wedges.
  9. Transfer the scones to the prepared baking sheet, spacing them a few inches apart.
  10. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
  11. Remove from the oven and let the scones cool on a wire rack for 10 minutes before serving.
