  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, vanilla extract, and eggs. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan. Arrange the sliced peaches on top of the batter.
  5. In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle the mixture evenly over the peaches.
  6. Bake for 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
