Ingredients
  • 2 cup Pie Crust
  • 3 pound Apples
  • 1 cup Apple Cider
  • 1/2 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1/4 cup Brown Sugar
  • 2 tablespoon All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon Ground Nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 tablespoon Unsalted Butter
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Roll out one pie crust and place it in a 9-inch pie dish.
  3. Peel, core, and thinly slice the apples.
  4. In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples, apple cider, granulated sugar, brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Mix well.
  5. Pour the apple mixture into the pie crust.
  6. Dot the top of the apple mixture with small pieces of unsalted butter.
  7. Roll out the second pie crust and place it over the apple filling. Seal the edges and make a few slits on top for ventilation.
  8. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbling.
  9. Remove from the oven and let it cool for at least 1 hour before serving.
  10. Serve the Old Fashioned Apple Cider Pie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, if desired.
