Ingredients
  • 2 cup All-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 1/2 cup Strong brewed coffee, cooled
  • 1/2 cup Brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup Chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate large bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk and coffee. Begin and end with the flour mixture.
  6. Pour half of the batter into the prepared cake pan.
  7. In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, cinnamon, and chopped nuts (if using).
  8. Sprinkle half of the brown sugar mixture over the batter in the cake pan.
  9. Pour the remaining batter over the brown sugar mixture.
  10. Sprinkle the remaining brown sugar mixture on top.
  11. Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  12. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  13. Serve and enjoy!
