  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
  5. Stir in the grated carrots, crushed pineapple, and chopped walnuts.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
  7. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Remove from the oven and let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. For the cream cheese frosting, beat the cream cheese and unsalted butter together until creamy. Gradually add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract and beat until smooth.
