Mock-Up Shepherd’s Pie
Shepherd’s Pie is traditionally made with lamb or mutton, while this mock-up version uses lentils as a vegetarian alternative.
This is vegetarian, gluten free and high protein recipe. Dish can be prepared in 70 minutes. Recipe requires some culinary experience (medium difficulty). Number of ingredients: 16.

Peel and chop the potatoes. Boil them until tender, then drain and mash with butter and milk.

In a large skillet, heat olive oil and sauté the onion and garlic until softened. Add carrots and cook for another 5 minutes.

Add frozen peas, lentils, vegetable stock, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, rosemary, salt, and black pepper to the skillet. Simmer for 15 minutes.

Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).

Transfer the lentil mixture to a baking dish and top with mashed potatoes.

Bake for 20-25 minutes, until the top is golden brown.

Let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.
