McDonald’s apple pie was first introduced in 1968 and has since become a popular dessert item on their menu.

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Peel, core, and chop the apples into small pieces.
  3. In a bowl, mix the chopped apples, sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice.
  4. In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the apple mixture and cook for about 5 minutes until the apples are tender.
  5. In a small bowl, mix the flour and water to form a paste. Add the paste to the apple mixture and cook for another 2 minutes until thickened.
  6. Remove the skillet from heat and let the apple mixture cool.
  7. Roll out the puff pastry sheets and cut each sheet into 4 equal squares.
  8. Spoon the cooled apple mixture onto one half of each pastry square.
  9. Fold the other half of the pastry square over the apple mixture and press the edges to seal.
  10. Heat vegetable oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat. Fry the apple pies for about 2 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  11. Transfer the fried pies to a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes.
  12. Remove from the oven and let the pies cool for a few minutes before serving.
