Mocha Upside Down Cake
The upside-down cake gets its name from the way it is traditionally served, with the topping on the bottom and the cake on top.

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch round cake pan.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.

In a separate large bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.

Gradually mix in the dry ingredients, alternating with the milk and coffee. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan.

In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar and chopped pecans. Sprinkle the mixture evenly over the batter.

Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then invert onto a serving plate. Let it rest for 30 minutes before serving.
