  • 1.5 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cup Unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.75 cup Milk
  • 2 tablespoon Unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon Instant coffee granules
  • 1 cup Brown sugar
  • 1 cup Hot water
  • for serving Whipped cream or ice cream
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix together the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Add this mixture to the dry ingredients and stir until well combined.
  4. Dissolve the instant coffee granules in hot water and pour it over the batter. Do not stir.
  5. Sprinkle the brown sugar evenly over the batter. Again, do not stir.
  6. Bake for 40 minutes or until the top is set and the edges are slightly crispy.
  7. Allow the cake to rest for 30 minutes before serving. Serve with whipped cream or ice cream if desired.
