Ingredients
  • 2 cup All-purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoon Cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 cup Unsalted butter
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 0.5 cup Milk
  • 0.5 cup Strong brewed coffee
  • 1 cup Cherries (pitted and halved)
  • 0.5 cup Powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoon Maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoon Unsalted butter (melted)
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients, alternating with the milk and coffee. Fold in the cherries.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. While the cake is baking, prepare the glaze by whisking together the powdered sugar, maple syrup, and melted butter until smooth.
  7. Once the cake is done, remove it from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. Drizzle the maple butter glaze over the cooled cake. Serve and enjoy!
