Ingredients
Instructions
-
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
-
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
-
In a large bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
-
Add the flour mixture alternately with the milk and brewed coffee, beginning and ending with the flour mixture. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan.
-
Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Remove from the oven and let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
-
In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream until it begins to steam. Remove from heat and stir in the chocolate chips until melted and smooth.
-
Place the cooled cake on a serving platter and pour the chocolate ganache over the top, allowing it to drip down the sides.
-
Sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving.
