  • 1.5 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cup Unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.75 cup Milk
  • 4 tablespoon Unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon Mint extract
  • 0.5 cup Semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup Boiling water
  • for garnish Fresh mint leaves
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch square baking pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Add the milk, melted butter, vanilla extract, and mint extract to the dry ingredients. Mix until well combined.
  4. Stir in the chocolate chips.
  5. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking pan.
  6. In a separate bowl, combine the remaining sugar and cocoa powder. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the batter.
  7. Pour the boiling water over the top of the batter. Do not stir.
  8. Bake for 30 minutes or until the cake is set and the top is bubbly.
  9. Remove from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes.
  10. Serve warm or at room temperature. Garnish with fresh mint leaves.
