  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a mini pound cake pan.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk. Mix until just blended.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared pan, filling each cavity about 3/4 full.
  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a cake comes out clean.
  6. Remove from the oven and let cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then, transfer the cakes to a wire rack to cool completely.
