Ingredients
  • 2 cup All-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1/4 cup Milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup Dried cranberries
  • 1 teaspoon Orange zest
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cut the butter into small cubes and add it to the flour mixture. Use your fingertips or a pastry cutter to cut the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in the sugar.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg, milk, and vanilla extract.
  6. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  7. Fold in the dried cranberries and orange zest.
  8. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead it gently a few times to bring it together.
  9. Roll the dough out to a 1-inch (5 cm) thickness.
  10. Use a small round cookie cutter or a shot glass to cut out mini scones.
  11. Place the scones on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  12. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
  13. Remove from the oven and let the scones cool on a wire rack.
  14. Serve warm or at room temperature.
