Ingredients
  • 2 cup All-purpose flour
  • 2 cup Granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup Unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 1/2 cup Vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1 cup Boiling water
  • 2 cup Heavy cream
  • 1 cup Semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoon Unsalted butter
  • 1 cup Powdered sugar
  • 1 cup Fresh berries
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes.
  4. Stir in boiling water to the batter until well combined.
  5. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Remove from the oven and let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream until it begins to simmer. Remove from heat and stir in the chocolate chips until melted and smooth.
  9. Let the ganache cool for 10 minutes, then spread it over one cake layer. Place the second cake layer on top.
  10. In a mixing bowl, beat the unsalted butter until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar and beat until light and fluffy.
  11. Frost the top and sides of the cake with the buttercream.
  12. Decorate with fresh berries.
  13. Allow the cake to rest for at least 1 hour before serving.
