Shepherd’s Pie is traditionally made with lamb, but this version uses ground beef, which is commonly known as Cottage Pie.

Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic, sauté until translucent.

Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.

Stir in diced carrots, frozen peas, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and tomato paste. Simmer for 10 minutes.

Meanwhile, peel and chop potatoes. Boil them until tender. Drain and mash with butter, milk, salt, and black pepper.

Transfer the beef mixture to a baking dish and spread the mashed potatoes evenly on top.

Bake in the preheated oven for 30-40 minutes or until the top is golden brown.

Let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.
