Marble cake gets its name from the marbled appearance created by swirling together vanilla and chocolate batters.

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a cake pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix together the sugar, vegetable oil, non-dairy milk, vanilla extract, white vinegar, and water.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until well combined.
  5. Pour half of the batter into the prepared cake pan.
  6. Add cocoa powder to the remaining batter and mix well.
  7. Pour the chocolate batter on top of the vanilla batter in the cake pan.
  8. Use a knife or skewer to create a marbled effect by swirling the two batters together.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  10. Remove from the oven and let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes.
  11. Transfer the cake to a wire rack and let it cool completely.
  12. Slice and serve.
