Ingredients
  • 2 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Cocoa powder
  • 2 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 cup Unsalted butter
  • 1.5 cup Granulated sugar
  • 3 large Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 0.5 cup Maple syrup
  • 1 cup Heavy cream
  • 1 cup Semi-sweet chocolate
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a round cake pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients, alternating with the milk. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
  5. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  6. In a small saucepan, heat the maple syrup over low heat until warm. In a separate saucepan, heat the heavy cream until it begins to simmer.
  7. Remove both saucepans from the heat and pour the cream over the chocolate. Stir until smooth and melted.
  8. Place the cake on a serving plate and pour the chocolate ganache over the top, allowing it to drip down the sides. Let the ganache set for 30 minutes before serving.
  9. Serve the Maple Leaf Chocolate Cake and enjoy!
