Heat oil in a large pan and cook the steak until browned. Remove from the pan and set aside.

In the same pan, sauté the onions and garlic until softened. Add the mushrooms and cook until they release their moisture.

Sprinkle flour over the mushrooms and stir well. Gradually add the beef stock and Worcestershire sauce, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens.

Return the steak to the pan and season with salt and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.

Transfer the mixture to a pie dish and cover with puff pastry. Brush the pastry with beaten egg.
