  2. Prepare the cake mix according to the package instructions and bake in a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  3. While the cake is baking, dissolve the lemon Jello mix in boiling water. Stir in cold water.
  4. Once the cake is done, remove it from the oven and poke holes all over the top with a fork.
  5. Pour the Jello mixture over the cake, making sure it seeps into the holes.
  6. Refrigerate the cake for at least 1 hour to allow the Jello to set.
  7. In a mixing bowl, combine lemon zest, lemon juice, and whipped topping. Mix until well combined.
