Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a loaf pan.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.

Gradually mix in the dry ingredients, alternating with the milk. Mix until just blended.

Divide the batter in half. Stir the cocoa powder into one half of the batter.

Spoon alternating dollops of the vanilla and chocolate batters into the prepared loaf pan. Use a knife to gently swirl the batters together to create a marbled effect.
