Ingredients
  • 2 cup All-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Unsalted butter, softened
  • 1.5 cup Granulated sugar
  • 3 large Eggs
  • 2 tablespoon Lemon zest
  • 2 tablespoon Fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup Buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1 cup Powdered sugar
  • optional Lemon slices (for garnish)
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the lemon zest and lemon juice.
  4. Beat in the flour mixture alternately with the buttermilk, mixing just until incorporated. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  6. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. Once cooled, dust the top of the cake with powdered sugar and garnish with lemon slices if desired.
  9. Serve and enjoy!
