Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.

In a medium bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.

In a large mixing bowl, cream together the unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and lemon zest until light and fluffy.

Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the lemon juice.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients.

Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.

Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.

Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Once the cake is completely cool, dust it with powdered sugar before serving.
