Ingredients
Instructions
-
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour three 8-inch round cake pans.
-
In a medium bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
-
In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
-
Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk. Mix until just blended.
-
Divide the batter equally into three bowls. Add a few drops of food coloring to each bowl and mix until well combined.
-
Pour each colored batter into a separate cake pan. Smooth the tops with a spatula.
-
Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cakes comes out clean.
-
Remove the cakes from the oven and let them cool in the pans for 10 minutes. Then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
-
Once the cakes are completely cooled, place one cake layer on a serving plate. Spread a layer of whipped cream on top. Repeat with the remaining cake layers and whipped cream.
-
Decorate the top of the cake with assorted sprinkles.
-
Refrigerate the cake for at least 1 hour before serving.
-
Slice and enjoy!
