  2. Roll out half of the pie crust and place it in a pie dish.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the cherries, sugar, cornstarch, lemon juice, and vanilla extract.
  4. Pour the cherry mixture into the pie crust.
  5. Roll out the remaining pie crust and cut it into strips.
  6. Create a lattice pattern on top of the cherry filling with the pie crust strips.
  7. Brush the lattice crust with the beaten egg and milk mixture.
  8. Sprinkle turbinado sugar on top.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.
  10. Allow the pie to cool for at least 1 hour before serving.
