Ingredients
  • 500 gram Lamb
  • 800 gram Potatoes
  • 1 piece Onion
  • 2 clove Garlic
  • 2 teaspoon Rosemary
  • 250 ml Beef stock
  • 50 gram Butter
  • 50 gram Plain flour
  • 250 ml Milk
  • 1 piece Egg
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  2. Heat oil in a large pan and fry the lamb until browned. Remove from the pan and set aside.
  3. In the same pan, sauté the onion, garlic, and rosemary until fragrant.
  4. Add the lamb back to the pan and pour in the beef stock. Simmer for 1 hour.
  5. Meanwhile, boil the potatoes until tender. Drain and mash with butter and milk.
  6. In a separate pan, melt butter and stir in flour to make a roux. Gradually whisk in milk until thickened.
  7. Remove the lamb mixture from heat and stir in the roux. Season with salt and pepper.
  8. Transfer the lamb mixture to a baking dish and top with mashed potatoes.
  9. Brush the mashed potatoes with beaten egg.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-40 minutes, or until golden and bubbling.
  11. Let the pie rest for 10 minutes before serving.
