Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).

Grease four ramekins with butter and dust with cocoa powder.

Melt the dark chocolate and butter in a heatproof bowl over simmering water. Stir until smooth.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs and sugar until pale and fluffy.

Slowly pour the melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture, whisking continuously.

Sift in the flour and add the vanilla extract and salt. Fold gently until combined.

Divide the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins.

Bake for 12 minutes, or until the edges are set but the center is still slightly jiggly.

Remove from the oven and let the cakes rest for 5 minutes.
