  1. Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F).
  2. Roll out the pie crust and place it in a pie dish.
  3. Peel, core, and slice the apples.
  4. In a large bowl, mix the sliced apples, granulated sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice.
  5. Pour the apple mixture into the pie crust.
  6. Dot the top of the apple mixture with small pieces of butter.
  7. Roll out the remaining pie crust and place it on top of the apple mixture.
  8. Seal the edges of the pie crust together and cut slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape.
  9. Beat the egg with milk and brush the mixture over the top crust.
  10. Bake the pie for 45-50 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown.
  11. Remove from the oven and let it rest for 30 minutes before serving.
