Ingredients
  • 2 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1.5 cup Granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cup Unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 0.5 cup Vegetable oil
  • 0.5 cup Kahlua liqueur
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 0.75 cup Boiling water
  • 0.5 cup Powdered sugar
  • 1 cup Whipped cream
  • as needed for garnish Chocolate shavings
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add eggs, milk, vegetable oil, Kahlua liqueur, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix well until smooth.
  4. Stir in boiling water until the batter is well combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. Once the cake is cooled, dust it with powdered sugar and garnish with whipped cream and chocolate shavings.
  9. Slice and serve.
