Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.

In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the sour cream and vanilla extract.

In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and cinnamon. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just blended.

In a small bowl, mix together the chopped walnuts and brown sugar.

Pour half of the batter into the prepared cake pan. Sprinkle the walnut mixture evenly over the batter. Top with the remaining batter.

Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
