  5. Add the Cajun seasoning, dried thyme, bay leaves, and tomato paste. Stir well.
  6. Add the chicken broth and bring to a boil. Stir in the rice and reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer for 20 minutes.
  7. Stir in the peas, corn, cooked chicken, sausage, and shrimp. Cook for an additional 5 minutes.
  8. In a small saucepan, melt the butter and stir in the flour. Cook for 2 minutes.
  9. Gradually whisk in the milk and cook until thickened.
  10. Pour the chicken and rice mixture into a deep pie dish. Top with the pie crust and brush with beaten egg.
