  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla extract, and mix until well combined.
  4. Gradually add the self-raising flour and mix until a soft dough forms.
  5. Roll tablespoonfuls of dough into balls and place them on the prepared baking tray.
  6. Use your thumb or the back of a spoon to make an indentation in the center of each dough ball.
  7. Fill each indentation with a teaspoon of jam.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Allow the jam drops to cool on the baking tray for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  10. Serve and enjoy!
