  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a round cake pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, vegetable oil, water, eggs, and orange food coloring. Mix until well combined.
  3. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  4. Pour half of the batter into the prepared cake pan.
  5. Place the candy surprises evenly on top of the batter.
  6. Cover the candy with the remaining batter.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. In a separate bowl, mix the buttercream frosting with green food coloring until desired shade is achieved.
  10. Frost the cooled cake with the green frosting.
  11. Use the black icing to draw a jack-o-lantern face on the cake.
  12. Serve and enjoy!
