Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).

In a mixing bowl, combine the plain flour, butter, and caster sugar. Rub the mixture together until it resembles breadcrumbs.

Add the egg and mix until the dough comes together.

Roll out the dough on a floured surface and cut out circles using a round cutter.

Place a spoonful of mince meat in the center of each circle.

Fold the dough over the mince meat and seal the edges.

Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan and fry the mince pies until golden brown.

Transfer the fried mince pies to a baking tray and bake in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes.

Remove from the oven and let them cool.

Dust with icing sugar before serving.
