  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13-inch baking pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the mashed bananas and vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, alternating with the milk. Mix until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  7. In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar and lemon juice until smooth. Drizzle the icing over the cooled cake.
  8. If desired, garnish with banana slices before serving.
