Scones are a traditional British baked good, often enjoyed with clotted cream and jam during afternoon tea.

Preheat the oven to 220°C (425°F).

In a large bowl, mix together the wholemeal flour, all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.

Add the cold butter to the dry ingredients and use your fingertips to rub it in until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the honey, milk, and egg.

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.

Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and gently knead it a few times until it comes together.

Pat the dough into a 2cm (3/4 inch) thick round and cut out scones using a round cutter.

Place the scones onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.

Remove from the oven and let the scones cool on a wire rack for 10 minutes before serving.
