In a bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.

In another bowl, beat the eggs and granulated sugar until pale and fluffy.

Gradually add the vegetable oil and vanilla extract to the egg mixture, mixing well.

Alternate adding the dry ingredients mixture and milk to the egg mixture, starting and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.

Pour the batter into a greased and lined cake pan.

Place the cake pan in a steamer and steam for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Remove the cake from the steamer and let it rest for 10 minutes.

Carefully remove the cake from the pan and let it cool completely on a wire rack.
