Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

Beat in the eggs, one at a time, followed by the amaretto liqueur and almond extract.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients.

Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top. Sprinkle the sliced almonds evenly over the batter.

Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Once cooled, dust the top of the cake with powdered sugar before serving.
