Ingredients
  • 2 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1.5 cup Granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cup Unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 cup Butter
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 2 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 1 cup Boiling water
  • 1 cup Powdered sugar
  • 1 cup Whipped cream
  • as needed for garnish Chocolate shavings
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Add butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and milk. Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes.
  3. Stir in boiling water until the batter is smooth. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
  4. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Remove from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  5. Once cooled, dust the cake with powdered sugar. Serve with whipped cream and garnish with chocolate shavings.
