Ingredients
  • 2 crusts Pie Crust
  • 4 cups Apples
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 3 tablespoons All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon Ground Nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 tablespoons Lemon Juice
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 1/2 cup Heavy Cream
  • 1/2 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Chopped Pecans
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Roll out one pie crust and place it in a 9-inch pie dish.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples, granulated sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and lemon juice. Mix well.
  4. Pour the apple mixture into the pie crust. Dot with butter.
  5. Roll out the second pie crust and place it on top of the apple filling. Trim and crimp the edges.
  6. Cut several slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape.
  7. Brush the top crust with heavy cream and sprinkle with brown sugar and chopped pecans.
  8. Place the pie on a baking sheet and bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
  9. Remove from the oven and let it rest for 30 minutes before serving.
  10. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, if desired.
