Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, eggs, vegetable oil, water, and cayenne pepper. Mix until well combined.
  3. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  4. Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  5. In a separate mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until creamy and smooth.
  6. Cut the cooled cake in half horizontally. Spread the cream cheese mixture on the bottom half of the cake.
  7. Place the top half of the cake on the cream cheese layer.
  8. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips and heavy cream together, stirring until smooth. Pour the chocolate ganache over the top of the cake, allowing it to drip down the sides.
  9. Refrigerate the cake for at least 1 hour to allow the ganache to set.
  10. Serve and enjoy!
