Heath Bar was created in 1914 by L.S. Heath, who started selling the candy bars out of his kitchen.

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, eggs, vegetable oil, and water. Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes until well blended.
  3. Stir in the chopped Heath Bar candy bars.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. While the cake is still warm, poke holes all over the top using the handle of a wooden spoon.
  7. In a small saucepan, heat the sweetened condensed milk and caramel topping over low heat until warm.
  8. Pour the warm caramel mixture over the warm cake, making sure it seeps into the holes.
  9. Allow the cake to cool completely, then refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  10. Before serving, spread whipped topping over the cake and sprinkle with crushed Heath Bar candy bars.
  11. Slice and serve chilled.
