Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

Cut the butter into small pieces and add it to the flour mixture. Use your fingers or a pastry cutter to cut the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Stir in the dried cherries and chocolate chips.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, vanilla extract, and egg.

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.

Roll the dough out to a 1-inch thickness and use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut out scones. Place the scones onto the prepared baking sheet.
