  2. In a saucepan, melt the butter and add Guinness beer. Stir well and remove from heat.
  3. In a separate bowl, sift cocoa powder, plain flour, and baking powder together.
  4. In a mixing bowl, beat caster sugar and eggs until creamy. Gradually add the Guinness mixture, sour cream, and vanilla extract. Mix well.
  5. Fold in the sifted dry ingredients until just combined.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared cake tin and smooth the top.
  7. Bake for 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow the cake to cool in the tin for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. Melt the dark chocolate and drizzle it over the cooled cake.
  10. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
