  • 1.5 cup Oats
  • 1.5 cup Boiling water
  • 0.5 cup Butter
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 cup Brown sugar
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1.5 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 cup Chopped nuts (optional)
  • 0.5 cup Raisins (optional)
  • 0.5 cup Milk
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13-inch baking pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine oats and boiling water. Let it stand for 20 minutes.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream together butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Beat in eggs and vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture, alternating with the oat mixture. Stir in nuts and raisins if desired.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Remove from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
